MISSION JAPAN
A mission partnership of the Dutch Reformed Church (DRC) and other Reformed churches in SA with the Reformed Church in Japan (RCJ)
Mission Japan invites candidates to participate in a process of being sent as a missionary to Japan. Mission work in Japan requires a life-long calling, special gifts and an extended process of learning (theology, language and culture); the recruitment, equipment and sending of missionaries is therefore a process of prayerful dependence on God’s guidance.
Inherent requirements:
- Ordained minister of the DRC Family or other related Reformed churches.
- Conviction of a mission calling to Japan
- Preparedness and adaptability to work in a cross-cultural ministry
Preparedness and ability to learn Japanese - Identification with the unique Reformed identity of the RCJ
- Good relationships and effective liaison with donors (“sending church”) and the RCJ (“receiving church”)
Duties and responsibilities:
- Cooperation in raising funds
- Language Study
- Cooperation with the RCJ ministers in the RCJ Presbytery of Shikoku
- Focus on the unreached 99% of the Japanese society
